The Anglesey Fens are

one of the rarest habitats in the UK. To see 1 acre of good

alkaline Fen, is the equivalent of seeing an Osprey. Outside of

East Anglia the Anglesey and Llˆyn fens are the biggest in the

UK. CCW is leading a project supported by the European LIFE

fund to restore and manage these very important areas. Led by

the Anglesey and Llˆyn fens LIFE project team you will learn all

about a wetland system that used to stretch right across

Anglesey, from Malltraeth to Lligwy. See how these special

wetlands, fit into the farming landscape around them, how they

both depend on each other and how they are all linked together

by the underlying geology. Take this opportunity to see three of

the biggest Fens all in one day so you can compare and contrast their similarities and differences.
